The transfer has to happen in seconds, the set has to start every single time, and it cannot roar outside an ICU window in the middle of the night. We build these as silent canopy units on a pre-heated jacket-water circuit so the engine is already warm and takes load immediately.
Noise is the part buyers underestimate. A soundproof canopy with rockwool lining and a residential muffler brings the level down to roughly 68 to 75 dBA at seven metres, which is what a hospital boundary usually asks for. Power ratings follow ISO 8528-1:2018 (Prime PRP / Standby ESP), and the fuel figures are stated at ISO 3046-1:2002 standard reference conditions. Both are confirmed unit by unit on our load bank, and the test record ships with the set. Standby figures are the engine's factory standby rating from the model spectrum table — never a computed 110% of the rated output. Noise figures are typical open-type reference values, not a guaranteed sound-power level.

How quickly does the set take load after a mains failure?▼
With an Automatic Transfer Switch and a pre-heated engine, the set starts and the ATS transfers in under ten seconds, which is the common requirement for essential hospital loads. A jacket-water heater keeps the coolant near 40 degrees C so the engine accepts full load without a cold-start delay.
How quiet is a soundproof canopy unit?▼
Our acoustic canopies are designed for about 68 to 75 dBA at seven metres, depending on the rating and the exhaust silencer fitted. If your boundary or ward block needs a specific figure, tell us the distance and we will specify the lining and the muffler to meet it.
Do you support redundancy for critical healthcare loads?▼
Yes. Hospitals often run two sets in standby with a synchronising controller so one can carry the essential board while the other is down for service. We supply the sets with DeepSea or ComAp controllers configured for automatic changeover and periodic exercise runs.
