500 kW – 2200 kW · Tier III / IV Standby Power & Fast Block-Load Step Response
Diesel Generators for Data Centers & Telecom Hubs
A data center does not care about a glossy brochure. It cares whether the set picks up a chiller block without the voltage sagging far enough to upset the UPS. That is why we quote these projects on standby rating with a real block-load margin, and why the alternator winding and the AVR response matter more than the nameplate number.
For halls above roughly 1 MW we offer 6.3 kV and 10.5 kV windings so the medium-voltage switchgear stays compact and the copper losses stay low. Every set is run at 100 percent and 110 percent on our load bank before it ships, and the test record travels with the consignment so your consultant can see the transient response.
What this duty asks of the set
These are the three points we check first when a hyperscale & telecom data centers enquiry reaches us. They decide the rating, the cooling package and the control hardware long before price enters the conversation.
01
Instant step-load acceptance within 3 seconds (≤10% frequency dip).
02
N+1 and 2N parallel synchronization with DeepSea/ComAp controllers.
03
High-voltage 6.3kV / 10.5kV alternator winding options for low-loss transmission.
Configurations we usually quote for this duty: TFW-500, TFW-1100, TFW-2000 (10.5kV HV Available).
Recommended generator sets
Catalogue models that carry this duty run from 1100 kW to 2000 kW prime. Outside that band we build to the same specification on request — send the load and the site conditions and an engineer will size it. Each card opens the full datasheet, fuel curve and dimensions.

Power ratings follow ISO 8528-1:2018 (Prime PRP / Standby ESP), and the fuel figures are stated at ISO 3046-1:2002 standard reference conditions. Both are confirmed unit by unit on our load bank, and the test record ships with the set. Standby figures are the engine's factory standby rating from the model spectrum table — never a computed 110% of the rated output. Noise figures are typical open-type reference values, not a guaranteed sound-power level.
Frequently Asked Questions
What standby rating do I need for an N+1 data center?▼
Size each set to carry the full critical load on its own, then add one identical unit for redundancy. If the hall draws 2 MW, quote three sets so any two carry the load. We publish standby (ESP) per ISO 8528-1 and confirm the block-load step your UPS ride-through has to cover.
Do you supply medium-voltage 10.5 kV alternators?▼
Yes. TFW alternators above 1 MW can be wound for 6.3 kV or 10.5 kV to feed medium-voltage switchgear directly. Tell us the switchgear voltage and the fault level at the design stage so we match the winding and the protection settings rather than retrofitting them later.
How fast does the set accept a chiller block load?▼
With a suitable AVR and a pre-heated engine, a healthy set accepts a large block load within about three seconds with under ten percent frequency dip. We verify the step on the load bank and can share the transient record for your consultant to review before delivery.
