50 kW to 300 kW · Trailer-mounted
Trailer-Mounted Diesel Generators (50 kW to 300 kW)
A trailer set is a silent canopy set on a road-tow chassis: same enclosure, but with an axle, a drawbar, road lights and brakes so it can be moved by a pickup or a light truck. It is what a rental fleet buys, what a contractor takes from site to site, and what an event organiser hires for a weekend.
Because the whole machine has to survive being towed, the trailer set is built around a heavier base frame than a static canopy, and the fuel tank, battery and control panel are arranged so nothing shifts in transit. At the destination it is a set on wheels: chock it, earth it, connect the load, start it.

What this form includes
- ›Road-tow chassis with axle, suspension, drawbar and a jockey wheel.
- ›Road lights, reflectors, mudguards and overrun or electric brakes on the larger models.
- ›Silent canopy with lockable doors, so the trailer set is also a weatherproof quiet set on site.
- ›Base fuel tank inside the chassis, with a lockable filler cap.
- ›Optional lifting eye or forklift pockets for loading when towing is not practical.

These are the sizes we quote most often as trailer-mounted sets, 50 kW to 300 kW prime. Outside that band we build to the same specification on request - send the load and the site conditions and an engineer will size it. Each card opens the full datasheet with the fuel curve and dimensions.

Power ratings follow ISO 8528-1:2018 (Prime PRP / Standby ESP), and the fuel figures are stated at ISO 3046-1:2002 standard reference conditions. Both are confirmed unit by unit on our load bank, and the test record ships with the set. Standby figures are the engine's factory standby rating from the model spectrum table — never a computed 110% of the rated output. Noise figures are typical open-type reference values, not a guaranteed sound-power level.
Where this form fits best
- ›Equipment rental companies that need one set to serve many sites.
- ›Construction and road contractors moving power as the work front moves.
- ›Events, markets and temporary installations where power is needed for a few days.
- ›Emergency response and utility crews that need a set on the road within the hour.
What you give up
Every form trades something. These are the drawbacks of the trailer-mounted option as we build it - worth reading before the quotation, not after.
- ›Towing limits the practical size: above about 300 kW the trailer becomes a heavy, low-loader job.
- ›You pay for the chassis, the axle and the road lights, so a trailer set costs more than the same canopy set on a skid.
- ›Wheeled sets are easier to steal - we fit a lockable drawbar and can add a wheel clamp or a tracking point.
- ›Towing speed, braking rules and registration differ by country, so check what your roads require before ordering.
Frequently Asked Questions
How big can a trailer-mounted generator be?▼
In practice up to about 300 kW. Beyond that the trailer is too heavy to tow behind a light vehicle and it becomes cheaper and safer to move the set by low-loader as a skid or a container. The catalogue band we quote on a trailer runs from 50 kW to 300 kW.
Can a trailer set run while it is on the trailer?▼
Yes, that is the normal way to use it. Set it on level ground, chock or brake the wheels, earth the frame, connect the load and start it. Running it on the trailer keeps the set weatherproof and lets you move it without unloading anything.
Does the trailer set include road lights and brakes?▼
Road lights, reflectors and mudguards come as standard. Brakes depend on the size and the destination: the larger models are quoted with electric or overrun brakes, and we confirm the towing rules for your country before the chassis is built, because they differ from market to market.
